Square & Wish #18 - Fredrick, Maryland
I received this beautiful and funka-delic quilt square in the mail today from the Keller family. It's so wild and reminds me of high school a bit. I love the colors - they make me think that I should be on the beach in the Caribbean somewhere.
This is what was written on their wish card:
This Gospel was read at our wedding. It has significant meaning to us, particularly during this miraculous journey of love. With our best wishes for a life of joy and blessing. The Kellers
Luke 11:9-10
"And I tell you, ask, and it will be given you;
seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be
opened to you. For everyone who asks
receives, and he who seeks finds, and to
him who knocks it will be opened."

Square & Wish #15 - Clovis/Cannon AFB, New Mexico
My dear friend Jen sent us this awesome quilt square. Jen obviously knows me really well. I love anything to do with turtles & frogs & crabs. I just think they're all so cute so this very bright fabric with turtles all over it was so fitting. I am really digging these brightly colored squares people are sending me.
Jen & Jay's wish was:
May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!
Lots of Love,
Jen & Jay

Square & Wish #11 - Pocahontas, Arkansas
Square & Wish #10 - Sterling, Virginia
I received this quilt square in the mail today. It is from the Bagot family and is so cute!!!
This is their wish for our daughter:
Dearest Child
JUST THINK
You are here not by chance
But by God's choosing.
HIS HANDS FORMED YOU
And made you the person you are.
He compares you to no one else.
YOU ARE ONE OF A KIND
You lack nothing
That His Grace
can't give you.
He has allowed you
to be here
at this time in history
to fulfill His special purpose
for this generation.
- Roy Lessin
Thanks Bagot Family!!!!

Square & Wish #9 - Edwards Air Force Base, California
We have lots of good military friends and this came from a family we met and befriended at our last base in California. Chrissy & Rob's daughter's are close to Eriks age and they all played wonderfully together so when we moved, we really missed Meghan and Jenna as playmates for Eriks. They got along so well. Now the Bills family will be moving to England and we will miss them very much.
I have to give big kuddos to Chrissy for this quilt square. It was something so totally unexpected. One of the books I absolutely love to read to Eriks is "Guess How Much I Love You" with Big Nutbrown Hare and Little Nutbrown Hare. I recently discovered that I can order this book in the Latvian language through Balticshop.com (so I will be doing that shortly).
Here's what the Bills' wish was for Emilija:
Two different lives
Shaped to make one,
One became your guiding star,
The other became your sun.
The first gave you life,
And the second taught you to live it,
The first gave you a need for love,
The second was there to give it.
May God bless and keep you all the days of your life.
Love,
Rob, Chrissy, Meghan & Jenna
Thank you so very much gang!!!
Square & Wish # 8 - Council Bluffs, Iowa
Square #8 was received late last week as well from the Conant family. The square reminds me of Disney and so the wish was very befitting. I don't know if Chrissy has ESP or what, but we have been HUGE Disney fans for a long, long time! Our wedding reception revolved around the Mouse himself and his lovely girlfriend, Minnie.
Here's the Conant family's wish:
When you wish upon a star
Makes no difference who you are
Anything your heart desires
Will come to you
If your heart is in your dream
No request is too extreme
When you wish upon a star
As dreamers do
Like a bolt out of the blue
Fate steps in and sees you through
When you wish upon a star
Your dreams come true
Thanks so much Chrissy, Gerry & Grace!!!
Squares & Wish # 6 and 7 - San Francisco, California
Square & Wish #5 - Henderson, Nevada
This square came from some dear military friends of ours. She did a fantastic job picking out this fabric. It includes my current 2 favorite colors - pink & purple. Can ya tell I've got girls on my brain??? Erik occasionally wears a pink polo, but it's not the same as frilly dresses.
Thanks so much Sal & Freddie. We miss you and will try to visit soon!!
This is their wish:
My Wish - By Rascal Flatts
I hope that the days come easy and the moments pass slow,
And each road leads you where you want to go,
And if you're faced with a choice, and you have to choose,
I hope you choose the one that means the most to you.
And if one door opens to another door closed,
I hop you keep on walking till you find the window,
If it's cold outside, show the world the warmth of your smile.
But more than anything, more than anything,
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
Your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold,
And while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish.
I hope you never look back, but you never forget,
All the ones who love you, in the place you left,
I hope you always forgive, and never regret,
And you help somebody every chance you get,
Oh, you find God's grace, in every mistake,
And you always give more than you take.
But more than anything, yeah, and more than anything,
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
Your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold,
And while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this is my wish.

Square & Wish #1 - Lake Milton,Ohio
This quilt square was received from the Niccum family from Ohio on Saturday May 4th. The Niccum family is part of our agency's Quilt Square exchange group. This is what was written on the wish card:
A half a world away
Sometimes it seems we're so far apart
But a half a world away
Is not too far for a journey of the heart
My Little one, my bundle of join
I'm waiting for you
My precious daughter, my baby girl
I know you're waiting too
A half a world away
A child wait for a family of her own
While a half a world away
A family waits to come bring her home
My little one, my bundle of join
I'm whispering a prayer
My precious daughter, my baby girl
I hop to soon be there
I hop that we will no longer be
A half a world away.
Thanks Niccum Family!!!
